Mo Hawthorn Sour is 100% naturally soured by hawthorn fruit. An excellent source of antioxidants, the citric acid in hawthorn is slowly released during fermentation and aging. Building on a clean, light-bodied malt base, the hawthorn berries add a mouth-watering yet forgiving layer of tartness and fruitiness. A beer made to satisfy both light ale and sour lovers, Mo Hawthorn Sour will begin refreshingly on the nose and finish sweet and tart on the palate.

ABOUT HAWTHORN

Fresh green tea leaves ground into a fine powder, matcha is a beloved flavoring ingredient found in beverages and desserts. It is rich in antioxidants and helps boost liver, heart, and brain functions. Contrary to common belief, matcha is not sweet or creamy but earthy and herbal with a slight tannic aftertaste. It is a perfect companion to lighter hops and balances the sweetness of wheat malt.

MONKEY KING

One of the most enduring Chinese literary characters, the Monkey King is a mythical figure in the 16th-century novel Journey to the West. As a skillful fighter and a loyal companion, he escorts the monk, his master, on a journey to the West to retrieve the Buddhist sutras. The Monkey King has tremendous influence on Pan Asian culture, appearing endlessly on television and in comics and games. His signature weapon is a magical staff, which coincidentally resembles the stick on which hawthorn skewers are sold by street vendors in China.
